Mercy Outreach Center – a ministry of the Sisters of Mercy – is located at 142 Webster Avenue, Rochester, New York. The Center's mission is to meet the health care needs of the uninsured and underserved. Mercy Outreach Center uses community resources and collaborates with a broad range of professional volunteers by providing staff support and treatment facilities.

Volunteers and staff provided services to more than 17,000 people on site, in the community, or by phone in 2004-05. Volunteer health care professionals include physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, chiropractors, mammogram technologists, massage therapists, nutrition counselors, psychotherapists, dentists, dental assistants and dental hygienists who see patients at the center or in their offices at no charge. Other volunteers include Board members, receptionists, data entry personnel, and numerous others who assist with repair work and other tasks. The Center would not exist without the 150+ volunteers who provided more than 6200 hours of service during 2004-05.

Volunteers and grass root donations have historically been the foundation of the Center's support. Generous individuals and families who consistently remember the Center, a significant number of churches from many denominations, schools and other organizations, those who contribute through the United Way Donor Option, employee directed matching gifts, a bowl-a-thon and corporate gifts all provide the financial base.

The Winton Culver Catholic Community has developed a special relationship with the Center over the last 5 years and encourages parishioners to become involved as volunteers, support of Wish List items, bowl-a-thon sponsorship and most importantly to keep the Center and the clients its serves in our prayers.
