Christmas Baskets

Description

The Christmas Basket Project is a community service that has been a labor of love by the parishioners of St. Ambrose since the late 80's. Each year during the Christmas season, food baskets and gifts are donated to approximately 75 families in need. A majority of the families assisted, are provided to St. Ambrose by The Community Place of Greater Rochester located on Parsells Ave.

Starting in early November and continuing until the middle of December, parishioners make donations of food, paper products and gifts. Parishioners are also given the opportunity to "adopt a family." Those who do so, come together with other parishioners two weeks before Christmas to pack and deliver their family's food baskets and gifts.

This six-week event enables us to work together, meet and get to know other parishioners, and at the same time provide for those less fortunate in our community.
